Dear Reader, Issue 4

Happy Hanukkah!!

With each new issue, we’re continually awestruck by how fast it all seems to be going, and by the work we can share with you all. There may not be literal gatherings this holiday season, but we hope Niv gives you a chance to connect with others, and to stir-up conversations. We know 2020 has been an extremely difficult year for so many, so we hope this issue brightens your days or nights, and offers new perspectives and insights to thinking about the holidays.

We wanted to launch this next issue a little earlier to coincide with Hanukkah because we have some amazing holiday content to share. But from now Niv will be launching on the second Saturday of the month, so you can have a delightful weekend read coming straight to your inbox.

You’ll find personal essays exploring the joys and tribulations of multifaith households, to inspiring organizations giving back to the community, to classic bakeries and delis preparing for the holidays, to a menorah collector’s eclectic collection, and we are so thrilled that Shuk ‘n Chic has given us a peak into their creative process.

In the New Year we are looking forward to seeing how Niv will grow in its efforts to foster a platform for the Canadian Jewish perspective, in all it’s diverse, pluralistic and ever-changing forms of expression.

Warmly,

Clarrie Feinstein and Orly Zebak

*Issues launch on the second Sunday of every month. This begins in February, with Issue 5.
