Lily Brown was born at 376 Harbord St in Toronto, Ontario in 1929. She went to school up to Grade 8 and unfortunately was not encouraged to continue her education.
She had a voracious appetite for reading and writing and so at the age of 50 decided to go back to school and pursue a higher education. She accomplished a BA, BSW, MSW and HFA and began a career as a social worker in long term care facilities. She brought her love of writing to her patients and created many exciting writing opportunities for them.
Throughout the pandemic she began to write her memoirs. Her goal was to capture what life was like for her as a child during The Depression. She continues to write when she’s inspired and is never without a great book to read.
